The AC Line Splitter Model ALS-1 increases the sensitivity of clamp-on current probes and clamp-on meters. The Model ALS-1 provides temporary separation of conductors (avoiding splitting of the line) to facilitate measurement of current. Simply plug the Model ALS-1 into a connector for a safe measurement. Two clamp positions are available: X1 for direct readings, and X10 for actual reading multiplied by 10. Also features voltage checking.
The AEMC Cable Locator Model 6681 detects buried (in ground or in walls) telecommunications cables, electric power and other cables, and metal pipes, during modification or maintenance work on installations of category III (or lower), at voltages of 300V (or less) with respect to ground. The system can locate open circuits, shorts, track cables and locate fuses or circuit breakers. The instrument is a portable system that includes a transmitter, a receiver, and accessories. The transmitter and receiver both have a large back-lit LCD and large keys. The transmitter applies a modulated AC to the circuit that is to be located, which creates a proportional alternating electric field. The transmitter is also an AC/DC voltmeter; the display of the measured voltage is accompanied by a symbol warning of the presence of a voltage. In addition, the transmitter has a self-test function, indicating good transmission between transmitter and receiver. Both the transmitter and receiver units include a flashlight feature that assist the operator when working in dark unlit areas. The receiver features a sensitive sensor that generates a display proportional to the electric field detected. The variations of this signal, after decoding, processing, and shaping, enable the user to determine the location of underground cables and pipes, and detect any faults in them. The receiver also includes a buzzer that changes pitch as a function of the strength of the detected signal.
The Model 5217 is a portable hand-held multimeter that measures a variety of electrical and physical quantities including voltage (AC and DC), resistance, capacitance, frequency and temperature. These instruments can also perform continuity checks, voltage detection and diode testing (including forward bias voltage). Measurement features include Auto Range mode, which enables the instrument to select the best range for the input detected, and a Data HOLD function. These instruments are rugged and simple to use and rated to 600V CAT III.
The Model 5231 is a rugged, economical TRMS digital multimeter with a non-electrical contact testing (NCV) function for detecting live electrical circuits. This multimeter is designed for safety: IEC61010 600V CAT IV. The Multimeter Model 5231 provides a Volt, Ohm, Continuity, Diode function, as well as an AC voltmeter function with low input impedance that is capable of finding ghost voltages by adding a burden to the circuit. It performs AC/DC direct reading current measurements up to 600A with a current clamp accessory plugged in. The rotary function switch provides two OFF positions (OFF and OFF NCV). While in the OFF NCV position, the display will turn red if placed close to a live cable, providing a safe and easy way to detect hot wires. This meter has a high sensitivity with a resolution of 0.01mV and can withstand overloads up to 8000V. The Model 5231 is ideal for electrical installers, electricians and heating or air-conditioning specialists.
The Fault Mapper Model CA7024 is a hand-held, alphanumeric, TDR Time Domain Reflectometer Cable Length Meter and Fault Locator, designed to measure the length of electrical and communication cables. It can also indicate the distance to a fault in the cable open or short, given access to only one end of a two or more conductor cable. By incorporating fast-edge step TDR technology, the Model CA7024 measures cable length and indicates the distance to open or short circuit faults to a range of 6000′ (2000m), on at least two conductors. The Model CA7024 indicates the cable length or fault distance and description, alphanumerically on a 128 x 64 graphical LCD.
The Model 275HVD is designed to detect the presence of high voltage without physical contact. An 8 position rotary switch selects the detection range. As the sensor is moved closer to the voltage carrying conductor, its sensor head picks up the radiated electric field. Once the threshold is reached, the buzzer sounds and a bright red warning light alerts the operator of live conductors. The Model 275HVD is powered by three standard Alkaline C cell batteries and can be used both in- and out-of-doors. A universal spline on the back-end facilitates attachment to any standard hot stick. A self-test position ensures that all circuitry and annunciators are working properly before use.
The Phase Rotation Meter Model 6609 is a compact and rugged meter designed to identify phase rotation on 3-Phase systems and identify live and open/de-energized phases. Ideal for installing rotating machinery or motors, and for checking generator output. The Model 6609 is also an ideal tool for measuring the proper rotation of motors, conveyors, pumps and other electrical devices interconnected on the power line system before installation where direction of rotation is dependent on proper phase hook-up.
The Phase Rotation Meter Model 6610 is an essential tool for any installation, inspection and maintenance facility. The Model 6610 is a phase meter with voltage sensing detector clips (no metal contact points) designed to identify phase rotation on 3-phase systems and identify live and open/de-energized phases. The phase order is determined as soon as the leads are connected. The presence of live wires and phase sequence are provided by LED indication and buzzer as soon as detection has occurred. The Model 6610 is ideal for installing rotating machinery or motors, and for checking generator phase rotation direction.
